Domains and Hosting Archives

Hey Guys,

I have been studying getting domain names for your site or blog and I have come accross some unbelieveable and invaluable information about choosing your domain names.

As you know getting the domain name for your site or blog that you want and getting it in .com is almost impossible nowadays.  Fastforward to what I learned the other day from my friend Jodi Hans.

There are 5 little words that google doesn’t pick up on when their spiders are crawling the millions of sites online. Now if you pick your keywords and squeeze any of these words into them then you have a domain name that is highly optimized for page one. They are as follows

1 with

2 the

3 and

4 for

5 by

If you fit one or two even three of these words into your domain name then your domain will have the keywords that your are targeting only. In googles eyes these are not recognised so you can have as many of them in there as you want.

This was just a quick post to let you know about this highly guarded guru secret.

Hope you have fun getting that .com domain and keywords in it that you have been looking for.

Until Next Time

Starting Your Business Online! Do This First

When you are starting out online most people are getting
crippled by all the information out there. There are so
many different things that everyone is telling you to do
like build a list, get a site up etc etc…

Starting an online business should always start with planning
but after all you can plan until the cows come home
but that isn’t going to bring you visitors. You need
to get the ball rolling and get some sort of site our
there.

Blogging is the best way to start your business. It’s
not like a profit pulling platform, which we will get
into in another post, which is a static page or pages.
Your blog is your own content going out there on the
net for all to see. You should always be getting new
posts out there at least 3 to 7 times a week and not
just any old crap content that is valuable to people who
are just starting out in the industry.

Getting your blog online consists of a few easily done
steps which consist of:

1 Getting a Domain Name

2 Getting hosting account

3 Uploading wordpress to your account.

That is it this is the basics to having a blog online
so we will get a bit deeper into this now.

Getting a domain name is simple but there are a few things
you need to realise first. When getting a domain you need
to get it from a good company. Some companies will take your
domain if there is too much traffic or sales like in a
big launch and your launch will be in tatters. This shouldn’t
affect your blog but it is something that you should
remember for later in your career.

I don’t want to name names here but there are a few about.

So once you have your domain from namecheap it is time to
get your hosting account. A good hosting provider is very
important as they will be accountable for your site being
live on the internet so choose carefully. One great hosting
company who boast 99% up time is Hostgator. Hosting will
be around $10 a month and that is for as many sites and
domains that you want.

When you register your hosting account they will send you
nameservers which you have to put in your domain manager
where you bought your domain from.

It may take up to 24 hours for the domain to propogate to
the hosting account but most of the time it takes less than
that.

Once this is all set up it is now time to get your blog up
onto you hosting account. This is easily done as there is
a function in hostgator control panel called fantastico which
will do this for you.

All you do then is fill in a few details about your blog
titles and so on. Your blog will be live on the internet
straight away.

If you are having any problems with this I will be posting
video’s on how this is done very soon.

Until next time
